City governments across ASEAN are moving SDG targets from national ministries into municipal halls and local budgets. A new peer-review round under the ASEAN Sustainable Urbanisation Strategy pairs 24 cities to share measurable actions on housing, mobility, and waste.
Participating mayors commit to publishing annual SDG scorecards, aligning local spending with SDG 11 targets, and reporting progress through shared regional indicators. The twinning component draws on SDG 17, letting smaller towns borrow procurement templates from larger capitals.
