Energy ministers agreed on a corridor that links cross-border transmission lines with shared renewable auctions, aiming to raise the regional renewable share and cut reliance on coal. The plan maps solar, wind, and hydro clusters alongside grid upgrades.
Analysts expect the corridor to lower curtailment and speed permitting, supporting SDG 7 access targets while reducing emissions in line with SDG 13. A regional guarantee facility will back first-of-a-kind projects in smaller markets.
